Our members
...have diverse backgrounds but have joined the Indiana K-9 Search and Recovery Unit for a common purpose, to reunite families with missing persons, provide closure for these families, and raise public awareness about missing persons.
Group member’s occupations range from law enforcement, military, educational providers, healthcare, accounting, legal, and software development.
The unit is receives training in K9 handling techniques, animal behavior, scent theory, and search techniques. This training comes from internally and externally certified K9 handlers and by attending regional and national seminars.
All of our K9s have obedience training with many holding Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certifications.
